Building one arrow and one cannon tower which have crazy hit points is the way to go. I usually spend all my power up gems on those two towers for the first 50-100 waves. I get them well into the thousands. Then you surround them with obelisks. You need 4 obelisks since each one gives you different powers: damage, speed, etc. Then add a lightning tower or two and a slow down tower or two. The rest of the map I start filling with a good balance of arrow and cannon towers and obelisks in between. I can now routinely get to wave 130-170 and at around 1Mil. points. I am working on how to tweak this to get to wave 200 and beyond.

REPLY TO RHIE: I really enjoyed this map. The key is of course the positioning of the towers. Build your towers on the right of the map, at the lowest island. This way you can deal with both incoming enemies (from up and down) but most important, you will have to deal with them almost separately because enemies from down are arriving a bit earlier than the others.

Forgot to mention the importance of Obelisk. This tower increases the characteristics of all your towers within range so in the medium-late game it could be a good idea to build one near for a little bit of boost of your other towers. If i remember well every upgrade gives a boost of 2%dmg but speeds up attack rate, maximizes range and gold received as well. Do the math and you will see that spending some gems on an obelisk is not a bad idea at all. Just do not do it since te beggining because that extra boost does not worth the cost when you attacking towers are low level.

Hallo everybody. I followed a different strategy for this game and i succeded with ease to get through all maps in hard mode.

1.POSITIONING: I believe this is the most interesting part of the game and one of the most important. My first move here is to find the right place to set my towers in order that my enemies will pass throught there a.more than once b.and that they pass for the second time when i will have already finished with the last enemy of the first passing (i really hope that i explained clear here). There are some maps that this rule will be hard to apply (as splited maps).

2.EARLY BUILDING STRATEGY: So i found the right spot but what next? In the beggining i consider that i dont have a lot of money or gems but it is very important to get some. So i need towers for killing enemies without letting pass anyone alive in order to continue my building strategy. The basic building strategy is that i want to build 1 arrow tower, 1 lightning and 1 cannon. Lightning tower is very powerful but with short range and a bit expensive for the beggining. So i will start with arrow tower but i will keep the best spot for the lightning one. Arrow can. will be build right next to the place i wanna place the lightning afterwards. If i have more money my next move will be the lightning or cannon (very important that you kill all enemies since the beggining so choose wisely). As soon as i build my towers i will use my gems to upgrade them.

3.NEXT STEP. In a short time i will have 3 towers (1 of each type) one next to the other. Gems will be destributed evenly to them. Now i ll have to think about slowing down the enemy. This step is a bit tricky as well. I found very useful that the range of the towers that slow down the enemy should be at the exact position where the range of lightning tower is. You can do this usually by placing this kind of tower after the 3 attacking towers.I dont have any use of an enemy that slows down or stops an enemy(with later upgrades) out side of my range because once he starts to move again he will not stop for some seconds even if you have other "slow-down" towers. Feel free to place some more slow-down towers using the same strategy.

4.LATE BUILDING STRATEGY. Now i have my 3 attacking towers in a great positioning, and they attack for a lot of time since enemies are passing near more than once and they slow down or stop right where i need them to stop. My next step is to upgrade as much as i can my 3 attacking towers using gems. I will continue to distribute the gems to the towers but now, for every 100 gold that i have i will buy one more gem (speeding up this way the upgrade process).

So, that's all! Have fun everybody! I hope this will work for you.

concentrate towers and tornadoes on areas where all paths converge... arrow, canon, lightning, whatever. Do not always try to kill ships right where they enter the screen... it spreads out your defenses and you run out of money too fast. Pay attention to the effective range of your selected towers... and use the locations that cover the MOST water on the map.

If you r playing servival mode, it's impossible to get pass level 70 with arrows and cannons.. If any one has tips on getting pass level 170 on map 2... I would love to hear about it...

Anyone with some hints on how to beat Diamond Sky?

I tried arrows, a mix of arrows and cannons, cannons plus lightning, but never got so far as to build obelisks.
If I build arrow towers, the bosses & heavy ships do me in, otherwise it's the regenerating and immune ones.
